While The Winner Falls

A flicker of wings
A flash of talons
Defiance she sings
Her kill drained of blood

Bronzes browns and blues
Surround the proud riser
Which one shall she choose?
For now just fly higher

Soaring and weaving
An intricate tapestry
Dodging and diving
}: No one can catch me! :{

Sudden presence beside her
Strong necks entwine
Like dragon like rider
You cannot decline...

But others fly while the winner falls
Others choose, winner's dragon decides

And after the night
"Greenrider, what is your name?"
And after the flight
He must wake again...

Yup, it's about a mating flight. Full marks for observation. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, you either need to ignore this poem, or go here.)
