The world's an unforgiving mess
When we give allegiance to success
At the expense of happiness
And deny ourselves contentedness

Or if we all our strivings cease
All our commitments release
Try to act wild and free
But become chained to poverty

So we tread a narrow path
And when all around us laugh
We still know it's the way to go
For our Father above loves us so
