New Faces

As I look around I wonder
About these people I don't know
Maybe I'll never know
It's somehow intimidating
All these new faces what do they hide
What experience lies behind those eyes
Those searching eyes that show so well the person
The person hidden inside
Do mine show my good side or my bad
Are they laughing eyes or forever sad
It's someone else that said
Eyes are the windows of the soul
And like windows they have curtains
Are mine open or shut
Some veil their eyes, net curtains from others
Blinds come down, the enclosed spirit
Left in darkness
Let yourself out, let me know you
Let me see how I can help you

I've never been good with people.
