Attackers Report:

The avenging eidolon paces up and down the room, constantly, as it delivers its final report.

"We don't think they went anywhere near the Maelstromic Restoration Device. I'm not sure they knew where it was."

It is not the happiest avenging eidolon you have ever seen.

"There were hundreds and hundreds of them. We killed about seventy, it didn't even really make an impression."

They're not very keen on being utterly defeated.

"When we dropped the stinger snakes, they just cleared out of that area and sent in their eidolons. They've got wise to that trick now. And slaughter birds are no use against an organised force with pistols. They know to shoot the leading pair; then the rest are easy targets."

Not a single living native came back from Bellamorto Estate this time.

"We're done. We've burnt their city. We've killed all their peasants. Their heroes can live. They deserve it."

And with that, it sits cross-legged on the floor and completely ignores any further interaction.

After about a minute, it says, "Oh, and ask Tal Rufen about his wemics."

A few moments later, it fades from the world entirely.

Defenders Report:

The natives seem to be very keen on the ruins of Bellamorto Estate. No matter how many times you clear them out, they keep attempting to patrol the area; as soon as the avenging eidolons have reassembled, there they are again.

This time, however, you are ready for them. Surrounding the entire area, you allow them to become properly established, and then you strike, tightening the net firmly so that there is no escape.

They scatter stinger snakes in the streets; they send slaughter birds to harrass you; they stage a full-scale last stand within the palisade.

But most of their real myrmidon warriors are already dead, and you are freshly reinforced with heroes like Tal Rufen and Thomas Henry Fitzchapel; it is not an easy fight, another seventy-two of your men are lost, but you kill every last one of the Azarch warriors that still plague your land.
